A sad day…

Jane Austen
July 18th is a sad day for us Janeites, it was on this day 192 years ago that our beloved Jane passed away. It is a great pity that she died at such a young age. Think of all that she could have written had she lived but a few years longer! But I will be forever grateful that she actually wrote what she did! She gave us some of the best and most well loved works ever written!

I posted the whole of this poem by Rudyard Kipling a little while ago, but I just found it suitable to post the last part of it here agin today.

Jane lies in Winchester, blessed be her shade!
Praise the Lord for making her, and her for all she made.
And while the stones of Winchester – or Milson Street – remain,
Glory, Love, and Honour unto England’s Jane!
