A visit to historic Nyköping

Tweet Together with my sister Viktroia and my grandmother I went for a visit yesterday to the city of Nyköping, which is about an hour away from where I live. The reason we went there was because there was a sort of medieval fair there that day. It’s called Hertig Karls Marknad, which would mean something like The Duke Karl’s Market (or fair). None of us had ever been to this one before, so we decided to make a day out from it and go there. It was pretty nice. The fair in itself wasn’t very big, but they sold … Continue reading

Yet another Costume Drama

Tweet We have just finished watching another looooong costume drama! This time we watched Lark Rise to Candleford. My sister Viktoria got the DVD (or I should say DVD’s, for there are several! ;)) for her birthday last year! And we haven’t watched it until now! I can safely assure you that that is usually not the case with movies like this! I don’t really know what made us wait so long. One of their neighbors for example is the Swedish tennis legend Björn Borg! We had a very good time there. Relaxing, swimming in the sea, going for walks in the nature reserve just by the house, playing games, … Continue reading

A quilt I made (some time ago)

Tweet Now this isn’t a new sewing project, I actually finished it some six months (or more) ago. But I got the idea to post it here anyway when discussing quilts with some of you in a comment to one of my previous posts. It was in 2005, when I was in Australia together with my family on our around the world trip, that I came up with the idea of  making a quilt like this. I saw before me just how I wanted it to look, so I drew it up on a piece of paper, so as not … Continue reading
