And so this year draws to a close

Tweet It’s New Yeas Eve and the end, not only of a year but of a decade! On this day, every year, I find myself thinking of all the thins that have happened to me and in the world over the year that has been. This hasn’t always been the easiest year I would say for me. There has been many challenges and opportunities for learning (another way of saying problems). But it has also been a wonderful year in so many ways! I have been able to do so many amazing things, met so many wonderful people and learnt … Continue reading

Going shopping with grandma

Tweet Sometimes going shopping with grandmother can be a very exciting and fun (and profitable) adventure! We went into town today in order to get some fabric for a skirt I am helping her with, and we passed this new shop that I’ve never seen before (it looked very temporary so I doubt it will be there for much longer) where they sold all these DVD’s and CD’s. We went in to have a quick look around, and instantly I spotted this box on a table there, bearing the name The Charles Dickens Collection! It was a box containing six … Continue reading

We had a delicious dinner with all the good things we usually have for Christmas (not a typical or traditional Swedish Christmas meal, since that has few dishes without meat). We all dressed up nicely and ate until we couldn’t force down another bite (almost). Then we opened … Continue reading

In honor of this season…

Tweet …I felt I just had to make a new dress! A few days before I had my idea of the blouse I made a little while back I had another idea. This time too I was lying in my bed, it was late and I was desperately trying to go to sleep.  But then I came to think about this fabric that I have had in my stash for several years now. It’s a green and black checked silk fabric that I got of a clearance sale, with the intention of turning it into a dress. The dress I … Continue reading

‘Tis the season

Tweet Today I can actually feel that Christmas is close, just around the corner. For me it hasn’t felt very Christmasy up to this point, which I am rather sorry for as I love the feeling of Christmas! But today I woke up to the most glorious weather ever! It’s freezing cold (around -18C) but oh, so beautiful! The sun was shining. Everything glitters, like someone has covered the world with thousands upon thousands of tiny diamonds! It was truly stunningly beautiful! We went outside admiring it all, the snow covered threes and the ice sculptures down by the lake. … Continue reading

Happy Birthday Jane!

Tweet On the 16th of December 1775 Jane Austen was born. Had she still lived today she would have been celebrating her 234st birthday! Just think of all the books she would have had time to write!
