‘Tis the season

Today I can actually feel that Christmas is close, just around the corner. For me it hasn’t felt very Christmasy up to this point, which I am rather sorry for as I love the feeling of Christmas! But today I woke up to the most glorious weather ever! It’s freezing cold (around -18C) but oh, so beautiful! The sun was shining. Everything glitters, like someone has covered the world with thousands upon thousands of tiny diamonds! It was truly stunningly beautiful! We went outside admiring it all, the snow covered threes and the ice sculptures down by the lake.

After some time however my feet and hands were completely numb and I had to head back inside again. There we all engaged in the task of cleaning the house (not my favourite thing to do admittedly), so now it’s all clean and tidy, and that is always a nice feeling. I put some Christmas decorations up, am now sitting here listening to Christmas music, enjoying the wonderful scent of the hyacinths on the table close to me (hyacinths are a must for Christmas I think!) and in a short while I’m about to make a gingerbread house together with Viktoria and Aron. Tomorrow the plan is to head out into the forest and find a nice tree to bring inside. That is usually quite a long project, since we have a tendency to all vote for different trees and consequently spend a long time arguing the pros and cons of our different preferred choices. But in some miraculous way the end result is usually to everyones satisfaction! And then comes the decorating of the tree… 🙂

I hope you are all enjoying your day too, this really is a season to be jolly! 😀

I am so glad you’re enjoying Christmas in the air! What beautiful pictures of Sweden, I really loved seeing them!
    A Merry Christmas to you!

    Love,
    Camilla

  2. Your pictures are lovely, although I think I am quite content in letting you have all the -18C weather, lol…! 🙂

Does the wind blow really hard when it snows? Our trees look nothing like this and we got a decent 19 inches of snow here this weekend…

If find it interesting you can just head into the forest and find a tree… if any of us here were caught *trying* to do that… 😛

    Merry Christmas! 😀

    Thank you!

When it is that cold I don’t think there is usually a lot of wind here. This day it was particularly still. And though it has now been several days the trees still look just as gorgeous! Which I am very happy about!

Oh no, it is certainly not allowed to just go into the forest and get a tree just like that. Though a lot of people still do “steal” them on other peoples land. We didn’t however as the tree we got was on our own property. So perfectly legal. 🙂
