The festival is over, for this year. 🙁 I am in St Albans now, visiting my sister here for a few days. I will be heading back to Sweden the day after tomorrow.
So obviously I have lots to tell you about my time in Bath, and quite a few pictures to share. Where to start…?
I arrived in Bath around 3 pm on the 17th. And the first thing I did was head to the place where I would be staying. Since I was the first of our little group to arrive I had to go there and get the keys and meet with the housekeeper and such things. Let me tell you, the house was lovely!! It was a really great location, very central. And the house was an old Georgian one (and it was big! 5 stories!) and it was all so nice on the inside!
Then my next plan was to go to the Jane Austen Center, because there was an event there that evening that I wanted to go to. That event was the Pre-Festival Get-Together. I really enjoyed that event last year and so I wanted to go again, but when I got around to booking all my tickets a while ago a few of the events I wanted to go to were already sold out, and this was one of them. I was disappointed, and I wrote to them there asking them whether they could put me on a waiting list. They did that but I never heard from them saying there were any left. But I decided to go up there before the event anyway, just to check. And I’m glad I did! When I got there and asked I was told that there was 1 ticket left! Mine! 🙂 So I got in.
Now at this event there isn’t really that much happening, but I just think it is a lovely opportunity of meeting new people and get even more excited over the festival that is starting. And I did meet some lovely new people! I have no pictures from this event though…
Later that evening I also got to meet the Dutch ladies I would be staying together with. They were all so nice! Which of course I knew they would be! 😉
I’m about to fall asleep now it feels like, so I’ll write more another time.
(I’ve added a few pictures I took of some of the famous things in Bath, just to have some pictures…)
