More talk of series and films…

Today has been a chaotic day here, to say the least. I won’t bore you with details, only say that I am thankful it is almost time to go to bed, and that I hope tomorrow will be a more enjoyable day.
Lark Rise to Candleford 4
As I told you a little while ago, my family has been watching a lot of series lately. Lark Rise to Candleford season 4 is the one we are working our way through right now. I have written before about how much I like Lark Rise to Candlford, it’s just such a wonderful feel-good series! And I really like the fact that there is so much of it! 4 whole seasons! Aaah, *bliss*!
But sadly it does seem like 4 is all that there will be. After several successful years they have decided to put a stop to it… *sob*! How will I survive?! 😉 All right, I will probably survive very well, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling a little bit melancholy at the thought of it being over. I keep my spirit up by bearing in mind that there will be many others. Jane Eyre 2011 The promise of Downton Abbey this fall is very encouraging, and there is also the new Jane Eyre which is already out in a few places! Has anyone of you seen it yet? What did you think?

I should go and do some more packing now. I’m leaving for England early Wednesday morning, still have quite a few things I need to do before then. Well, well, I think I shall manage. 🙂

Talk to you all soon!

I saw Jane Eyre about a week ago! I’m not sure how true to the book it is (I was only around 130 pages in when I saw it), But it was beautifully shot and costumed, and it was a wonderful story with great acting!

Aurora, I am really depressed about the end of Lark Rise as well. 🙁 I loved the show, it was perfect sunday night watching. And the costumes were gorgeous, except maybe the Pratt sister’s clothing!! 🙂

Jane Eyre doesn’t come out in England for ages. I think I am going to have to wait until about november to watch it!!

  3. Emily says:

Did you hear the awful news about the arson fire that destroyed a costume warehouse in England? Some of the costumes lost were from Downton Abbey.

  4. Isabel says:

Oh that is awful. So sad – all those beautiful costumes. Poor guy who owns the place.

  5. Aww… you’re not the only whose life is chaotic! BTW, I’ve been watching a lot of old 1960’s movies… I love the older stories… modern movies can be so shallow and pointless…

I haven’t yet watched Lark Rise to Candleford, but I shall get it off of netflix sometime so I can see if I like it as much as you do 🙂

Just love reading your blog! My family and I are working our way through series 4 right now as well. Even sneaking out of work today to head over for lunch and episode 3!

Can’t wait to hear about your trip to England. I actually leave May 7th!

  7. Aurora says:

Emily – I am glad to hear that you liked it! Makes me look forward even more to seeing it!

Isabel – you have a point there, the Pratt sisters don’t have such very attractive costumes…. 😉 But other than those (and the hats! Most of the hats are just dreadful! :P) most costumes are lovely!
Yeah I know, it’s so unfair that Jane Eyre won’t be out here in a looong while yet….!

Emily – I had not heard about that! That is dreadful! All those beautiful costumes just gone! I agree with Isabel, poor guy who owns the place!

Justin – yeah, sometimes that’s just what life is like…
You should definitely watch Lark Rise at some point! 🙂

Gail – thank you! I am happy to hear you like my blog! haha, sneaking out of work for lunch and episode 3, I love that!
So you are going to England too? Nice! What are planning to do there?
