The splendours of Rosings Park

Tweet I told you I was over in England (again!) a couple of weeks ago, visiting some good friends. These good friends live not far from a certain big house, a big grand house that goes by the name Belton House. In these circles however it is known as Rosings Park! Yep, that’s right, it’s the house used as Rosings Park in the 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! As you can probably imagine it is a place I have really wanted to visit, so when Joanna told me that it is less than a 30 minute drive from … Continue reading

International Jane Austen Book Club

Tweet That is what my sister Viktoria and our friend Dolinde decided to call the bookclub they started last year; International Jane Austen Book Club. I don’t quite remember how the idea got started, but I believe Viktoria and Dolinde had been discussing the books and then started talking about doing a club to get more people into the discussion. I was invited to join (of course, my sister could not very well start a book club about Jane Austen and then not invite me! :P) and we also asked a few other friends to  join in. It was never meant to … Continue reading

A stage production of Pride and Prejudice

Tweet Anyone here from the Orlando, Florida area? I received an email a little while ago from a lady who is in some way involved with the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, she informed me of a production they were doing of Pride and Prejudice. The show is running from the 9th of February to the 20th of March. Now unfortunately I do not think I shall be able to get to Florida myself before March the 20th, which is a pity since I think it would have been lots of fun to see a stage performance of a our beloved Pride … Continue reading

Jane Austen theme on P3 Populär

Tweet There is a Swedish radio program called P3 Populär. It’s on one of Sweden’s biggest radio stations (P3), and a little while ago they got a new host (?) on this program. Me and my dad happened to hear the first time that this new host was there, and she said something which imediately caught our attention. She mentioned that she was a big Jane Austen fan, and that she would like to have a Jane Austen theme on their program sometime. Sounded very interesting! Unbeknown to me my parents wrote to this radio program and told them about … Continue reading

My wish-list for 2011 (or, part of it)

Tweet What exciting things have you all got planned for this year? Anything special you are planing to do/want to do in relation to Jane Austen (or something similar) perhaps? Events you are attending? Places you want to go to? Some sewing project you have in mind or a book that you feel it’s time to read? Or anything else fun! There are a few events that I would like to attend (actually there are more than a few, but to get them all in might be slightly difficult…). – The Jane Austen festival in Bath, obviously! – A week … Continue reading

Today’s a big day – even Google knows it!

Tweet Have you seen Google today? If you have you will have noticed that there is a lovely little picture of a Regency lady and a gentleman. In honor of our dearest Jane Austen’s 235th birthday! Finally they have got their priorities straight! 😀 Bookmark on Delicious Digg this post Recommend on Facebook share via Reddit Share with Stumblers Tweet about it Subscribe to the comments on this post
