My Blog’s new Christmas look :)

Tweet Since today is the first of Advent, the Christmas season is now officially here. I decided to celebrate this by giving my blog a new look. A more “Christmasy” look. I think I’ll keep this look for the whole Christmas season, and then we’ll see what I’ll do. 🙂 This morning my mom and I had a performance together with the choir (one of the two choirs we are presently in) in honor of Advent. It was very nice, and we got to sing a small solo together, my mom and I. It actually went really well, and we … Continue reading

My Fair Lady

Tweet One of the presents I received for my birthday this year was a ticket to the stage production of My Fair Lady in Stockholm. It has been playing there for about a year now, and this is the last season. Ever since the first time I heard that they were putting on that show there I have wanted to see it! Not only because My Fair Lady is a musical that I really like, but also because all these great actors/singers were going to be in it! The two leads are played by Helen Sjöholm and Tommy Körberg, both … Continue reading

Walking and Dancing with Jane Austen (sort of) – Bath and Festival part 4

Tweet Well, my fabulous title says it all really, doesn’t it? 😉 OK, maybe it doesn’t. I’ll give you some more details in any case. The next day I once again dressed up in my costume, and my first stop that morning was the Jane Austen Center. Or, to be more exact, the Jane Austen Center’s gift shop! I spent a long time there, just looking at all the lovely things they have! I only ended up buying one book this time though. After having looked at everything in the shop about a dozen times it was time for me … Continue reading

My ‘Gone With the Wind Picture’

Tweet Picture of me running down the stairs at a Victorian Ball in Los Angeles 2007. I was late for a dance. Every time I see this picture it reminds me of Gone With the Wind, allthough I have to admit, I’ve only seen that movie once. Beautiful Scandinavian song

Tweet I’m off in a little while to my voice lesson. Now in the summer I don’t go so often, so I am especially looking forward to it today! I have an amazing teacher who, I believe, thinks it’s just as much fun as I do. I always feel more than welcome, which is nice. Right now I am working on a song by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, it’s called Solveig’s Sang, or Solveig’s Song. In my opinion it is just one of the most beautiful songs ever! And I do hope I can do it justice! It’s from … Continue reading

Dancing with Darcy…*sigh*!!!

Tweet I just a few weeks time, on the 3rd of July, there will be a very special event taking place. This event is a ball that goes under the name Dancing with Darcy and which is to be held at Chawton House (or “the Great House” as it is also known as).  This house belonged to Jane’s brother Edward and is located not far from Chawton Cottage. This year it is exactly 200 years since Jane and her mother and sister moved there. I am guessing the reason why the ball is not held at the cottage is simply … Continue reading
