It’s time to travel again! :)

Tweet So, the time has finally come! Finally it is time for me to pack my bags and head off to another fantastic event! It feels like its been forever since last!! But now Italy, and the medieval city of Lucca, awaits with a Napoleonic weekend that I am sure will be spectacular! I’ve talked about this event on here before, but for those who have managed to miss that, this is a Napoleonic event organized by the lovely Margarita Martinez (who’s website you can find here) and it will include dancing, a ball, picnic, visits to a museum, costumes, … Continue reading

The splendours of Rosings Park

Tweet I told you I was over in England (again!) a couple of weeks ago, visiting some good friends. These good friends live not far from a certain big house, a big grand house that goes by the name Belton House. In these circles however it is known as Rosings Park! Yep, that’s right, it’s the house used as Rosings Park in the 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! As you can probably imagine it is a place I have really wanted to visit, so when Joanna told me that it is less than a 30 minute drive from … Continue reading

A special encounter in Lincoln, England

Tweet Sorry about the horrible lack of posts on here lately! Last week I was more than a little busy, and this week I am in England again (yes I know, again…) and my internet is somewhat limited. However I will just post a few pictures I took yesterday. I’m over here to visit some friends who live in a city called Lincoln, and yesterday when they were both at work I spent the day exploring some of this city on my own. One thing Lincoln is quite famous for is it’s big cathedral, so naturally I had to go … Continue reading

Once again it’s time, time for going to BATH!

Tweet It’s that time of the year again. The time of the year when I am running around like crazy trying to fit bonnets and dresses into my suitcase, printing tickets and trying to remember everything I need to do before I leave, because tomorrow I am off to Bath! YAY!!! Jane Austen Festival here I come! I’m gonna be away for 9 days, 9 days of spending time with wonderful people, meeting friends old and new, dress up in costume, attend talks and dance. I have managed to fit in no less than THREE different balls during those nine … Continue reading

A visit to the British Library

Tweet Hope you have all been enjoying a wonderful Easter! I’m planning to continue here now and write another post about my trip to England. About a nice place I went to in London. St Albans, as you might know, is very close to London. Indeed, here in Sweden most people would probably say it is London (that is, if they would ever say anything about it at all). I am guilty of having done so myself before I was better aquainted with the area. If you take the train from St Albans station it will in 20 minutes take … Continue reading

The hunt for the “picturesque” picture

Tweet Here I am in England now, having a lovely time. My sister and I just got back from a beautiful long walk in the glorious sunshine (yes, the weather has been absolutely perfect while I’ve been here so far, sunny and warm every day. When I left home there was still some snow on the ground and ice on the lakes… I wasn’t prepared for it being summer here!). I have already written about St Albans, the beautiful city where my sister is living at present, on here before. It is a very old city, filled with historical things … Continue reading
